Initiative comes to thems that wait

historical image unavailable I'm being antithetical today. There's a certain smugness in openly reading and enjoying books by an author that someone else condemns as a bad one. It's proving their statement wrong in a way. A slight argument in its own. Sure, there are plenty of awful writers that are widely read by others. But that's why I said it's only a slight argument. But it's displeasing nonetheless to the professor of the condemnation. And sometimes that's enough.

Sometimes hard work and perseverance pay off, other times they don't. You move on. Endlessly moving on past glorious victories and crushing defeats. That's just the cycle. That's life.

Really, I hate to admit that the boy is clever. Which attests to his true desperation. It is only the pathetic among us that can afford to be clever in such ways.
