mood sick

Fed up with one thing, starved for another... but with such capricious cravings, I suppose I should expect no less. I am gluttony in all its overindulgent grandeur, blowing a loud horn of plenty, and taking a bite out of every passing morsel by the forkful. Yet for all my feeding, my mouth still waters, my stomach still growls, and it is as clear as the greasy sheen on my fingers that I have become hopelessly malnourished. But, hey — this is America's favorite pastime, binging on sugarcoated junk that melts so smoothly over the tongue. So much easier to digest than something of substance, something too difficult to swallow at first, something you need to chew on for a bit until the fiber has been ground into a mushy paste that both offends our taste-buds and leaves our glass jaws sore. When we decide which to partake of, we recognize that one gets us high and one lays us low, but we tend to forget how quickly too much Good Humor can make us violently ill. So what will it be today? Delicious or nutritious?
